THE KYURATE JOURNAL

Seoul is a starting point for KYURATE’s view of style, but inspiration does not need a planned destination. A walk through a city can help you notice combinations that feel fresh. Look for one useful idea, rather than trying to take in every detail at once.

01 / NOTICE A COMBINATION

Look for two things that work together.

It might be a light layer against a darker outfit, a compact bag beside a generous coat, or a colour repeated in a small accessory. Name the relationship that caught your attention. Thinking in pairs makes an idea easier to remember than trying to memorise an entire look.

02 / WATCH THE PROPORTIONS

See style in movement.

Clothes change shape as people move. A long layer opens, a sleeve shifts and the line of a bag changes with each step. Notice the general proportion rather than a specific person or brand. Ask yourself what makes the combination feel easy, defined or playful, and which part of that feeling interests you.

03 / BRING ONE IDEA HOME

Translate the idea into your wardrobe.

Start with pieces you already own. Recreate the relationship you noticed, such as a lighter outer layer over a darker base, rather than trying to copy every item. Compare your version with how you normally dress. Keep what feels natural, change what does not and let the idea become part of your own routine.
